- Materials:
- (4) 1x2x8 boards for the legs
- (2) 1x4x8 boards for the top and shelf
- (1) sheet of 3/4 inch plywood
- Screws or nails
- Wood glue
- Sandpaper
- Finish (optional)
- Cut List:
- (4) 1x2 legs at 24 inches (length)
- (2) 1x4 boards at 16 inches (length) for the top and shelf
- (1) sheet of 3/4 inch plywood at 16 inches by 16 inches for the shelf
-
Assembly:
-
Begin by attaching the legs to the plywood shelf. Apply wood glue to the top of the legs and secure them to the corners of the plywood with nails or screws. Make sure the legs are flush with the top and bottom of the plywood.
-
Once the legs are attached to the shelf, attach the top. Apply glue to the top of the legs and lay the 16x16 inch 1x4 board on top, flush with the legs. Secure the top to the legs using nails or screws.
-
Once the top is attached, attach the second 16x16 inch 1x4 board for the shelf in the same way, but place it about 6 inches down from the top.
-
Sand the table smooth, and if you desire, you can apply a finish such as polyurethane, varnish or paint to protect the wood and give it a nice look.
-
Now you have your table all set, put it in your room and enjoy it.
Please note: This is a basic plan and there are many variations you can make depending on your own preferences and skill level. For example, you may want to round the edges of the top for a smoother look, or you may want to make the table taller or shorter. You may also want to use different types of wood or different sized boards. Feel free to make adjustments as necessary.
